Summary of the Role:

  • You develop products according to provided/agreed specifications.
  • You implement requirements and change requests.
  • You find and fix defects.
  • You coordinate with the product owner, analyst or design team for clarification on requirements.

The Ideal Candidate has:

  • Experience developing enterprise solutions using PHP (preferably MVC applications)
  • Development experience with Angular and/or React JS, MySQL and web services
  • DevOps experience within LAMP and/or LEMP Stacks and managing Linux/Unix based OS from the command line
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize business needs, analyze requests, and develop solid code to meet product backlog requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and relentless attention to detail
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to provide estimates during sprint planning sessions, create weekly status reports, prioritize workload, and execute on assigned deliverables with minimal supervision and guidance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with a diverse group of clients, team members, managers, and subject matter expects
  • Strong implementation, documentation skills are required, including writing, interpreting, and communicating technical requirements
  • Knowledge of software development coding structures and software lifecycle methodologies required

Your team relies on you to:

  • Develop web applications from planning to design, architecting, coding, refactoring, testing and deployment
  • Work across the entire stack from database (MySQL), backend (PHP) and the frontend (CSS, jQuery/JS, HTML) to server management (Linux, Apache, Nginx)
  • Develop full-stack web technologies as part of our software product development team
  • Troubleshoot issues
  • Ensure code meets standards by living and breathing current best-practices
  • Engage in QA-related activities
  • Assist with Web Hosting and deployment automation
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and collaborate with the team to accomplish sprint goals
  • Offer solid interpersonal and communication skills with excellent fluency in English
  • Communicate with Account managers and Technology Director to clarify system requirements and fine tune your deliverables to meet the expectations of the client
  • Collaborate with teammates to analyze and creatively solve technical challenges with a goal of developing solutions that are robust and scalable
  • Participate in (or conduct) code reviews
  • Perform other technical duties as assigned

Art Director

Trigger is actively seeking a highly conceptual and collaborative art director to work in partnership with a copywriter. Are you the type of creative who’s not afraid to find out what ideas lurk beyond your first fifty or sixty? Are you as comfortable with a piece of paper and a Sharpie as you are wielding a mouse? Financial Communications Group – Account/Project Coordinator

For over a quarter of a century, Trigger has been a trusted regulatory reporting partner to mutual fund companies. We provide expertise in annual and interim reporting of financial statements and MRFPs, prospectuses and AIFs, and Fund Facts. Trigger is looking for an individual that will be involved with supporting our Financial Communications production activities. The successful candidate is a team player, has project management experiences, takes initiative and enjoys problem solving. This individual thrives in a fast-paced team environment and will approach their work with methodical diligence.

Project Management Responsibilities:

Under the direction of senior team members, assist in the day-to-day operations of all client projects. Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain project schedules.
  • Coordinate, prepare, edit, traffic (and sometimes help to proofread) client-provided materials through internal process, including French.
  • Participate in project debriefings, sharing learnings to eradicate future issues.
  • Update content management system in multiple languages as required.
  • Create internal work orders (with proper specs, dimensions, required information etc.).
  • Schedule meetings, generate meeting agendas, take meeting notes and create contact/status reports, as required.


  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel and Word and Adobe Acrobat required.
  • Strong writing, documentation and typing skills.
  • Financial services experience an asset. Specifically experience with mutual fund financial statements and MRFPs.
  • Fluency in French (written and verbal) an asset.
  • Experience with Dynamic Publishing software an asset.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of the mutual fund industry language an asset
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel and Word and Adobe Acrobat required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong writing, documentation and typing skills.
  • Solid communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate expectations, accept responsibility of assigned projects and/or requests while communicating status of progress and issues
  • Ability to follow procedures and processes to meet deadlines and/or determine when escalation is required

Capable of working in a fast paced, dynamic environment with the ability to learn and adapt quickly and have a “roll up your sleeves and get it done” attitude


  • Post-secondary education, preferably in commerce or marketing.
